October 9, 2007 Statement on Passing of Rep. Jo Ann Davis

President, James Monroe Memorial Foundation

Joann Davis----------

We will certainly miss JoAnn Davis and will always be grateful for her presence at the James Monroe Birthplace in Westmoreland County.

She provided wonderful support and encouragement to us and was a great "patriot" in every sense of the word. She will be sorely missed.

While she was too weak to participate in the Jamestown Quadracentennial festivities earlier this year, her leadership in the Congress to highlight in a meaningful way the significance of the anniversary will be long remembered.

Her devoted husband Chuck and their family are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of deepest sorrow. She provided wonderful representation for America's First Congressional District.
